The time has come for us to start our ‘Big Lap’ again after two failed attempts both due to covid (see previous posts). So today is the first post of the first day of our Road Trip.
We are aiming to get to Birdsville (taking the long way) on the 3rd of July for the Big Red Bash’ (this will be our fourth time at the BRB).
We are leaving Mornington Peninsula today and driving to Ararat, then on to Kingston in South Australia, and from there to Clare Valley, Whyalla, Coffin Bay, Ceduna, The Nullarbor, Kalgoorlie, Great Central Road, Oodnadatta Trak and Birdsville Trak, and finally arriving in Birdsville.
This is only the first part of our Road Trip, we will drive through QLD’s Outback to Cairns, and via the Savannah Hwy we will get to Broome. And then down all the way to Albany, and back home via the Nullarbor (again) and South Australia.
We will take photographs as part of my project ‘Into the Outback’ and collect stories. We are not only interested in the landscape along the road, but also about the people and the towns in the outback. Life is different in the Outback and we are ready to explore everything it has to offer and share it on this Blog. So, keep following us and Django (our dog) on our ‘dream’ Big Lap adventure…… Life is good.
